This season we have a special and rare concert offering. On March 29th, the Grace Moore Singers will combine with choirs from Center for Creative Arts, McCallie School for Boys, Girls Leadership Academy, and Voci Virili Men’s Consort to present two magnificent choral works. The program will feature the Misa Criolla by Argentinian composer Ariel Ramírez. The Misa Criolla is one of the first musical settings of the Mass Ordinary to be sung entirely in Spanish. This work will be accompanied by traditional South American instruments played by professional Venezuelan musicians in Miami, including virtuoso quatro player Henry Linárez. The second work is another setting of the Mass Ordinary text – this time by a more well-known composer, namely Wolfgang A. Mozart. Mozart’s Coronation Mass will be presented by the combined choirs and they will be joined by a full orchestra made up of local professionals.
